This weekend I was relatively free, so took rest at home. I was planning to read some book, but somehow didn't have the mood. So simply sat at home and watched the television. I saw so many movies that I am so confused with the characters, names and stories.
The Malayalam movie "Indraprastham" looked like a typical Telugu movie with it's story, direction and background music. To crown all, there was Simran and couple of simransongs in the movie. (Not that I didn't enjoy it!)..."Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu" was a movie that I always wanted to see. But was not very much impressed with it. There are few scenes that are good, but the movie as a whole is not definitely as enjoyable as other old Priyasarshan movies (like "Poochakkoru Mookkuthi" or "Otaruthammava.. Aalariyam"). I saw "Ponthan Mata" for the second time. It is one of the best movies in Malayalam, with one of the best performances (probably, the best) by Mammootty so far.
"Golmal" was really enjoyable. It is a pleasure to watch Amol Palekar's acting. I was not very much impressed with "Thoovanathumplikal" . Definitely it is not among Padmarajan's best. But it has a rare performance by Mohanlal in which he changes his dialogue delivery style. In the night I was watching the classic Hindi movie "Mother India", but I slept after some time!.. I woke up late night and switched off the TV.
Today I have got the CD of "Pakkeezah". Planning to watch it tonight.
