I am preparing for the travel on 18th. I went to Eastern Stores on saturday with Sunil and bought winter clothes, suitcases etc. It came to 13K. Company is not giving any travel kit allowance. So I have to spend that from my pocket.
Nadi came to my home in the evening and I introduced him to the house owner. He will be staying in my house while I am away.
Yesterday I saw few films in the TV, as usual. "Kaliveedu" , "Ezhupunna Tharakan" and while watching "Varnappakittu" I slept. All junk movies.
"Savitri, could you please open the windows so that I can see the shining stars?"
"No, it is very cloudy now"
"Then let me see the clouds moving in the sky"
"You have fever and it is very cold outside. So take rest and you can see all that in peace later"
"Please do as I say. Otherwise you will always repent while seeing monsoon clouds moving in the sky, and I wont be with you then"
This is a moving piece of dialogue from "Charithraheen". It is a great novel. The characters - Savitri, Upendran, Satheesh, Kiran, Divakar, Sarojini all are well-etched and their complex emotions are brought up perfectly. There are long philosophical discussions in between, which sometimes tend to disrupt the narration (like Tagore's Gora), but still it turns out to be a moving story.
