I love the songs too. The complete package was really good. I had watched it a few years ago and hadn't noticed those things you mentioned. Will have to view again.

I don't know what it is about some of the classical hits of the past. They are so simple yet the impression they leave is great.

Though I wonder if people in society do change their ways. I mean, we can praise Sankara Sashtri, but look at the oppression and hate seen in Indian society. Reminds me of another film that impressed me and gave me shivers at the same time "Nammaku paarkan munthiri thoppukal".

Yes I agree "Nammaku paarkan munthiri thoppukal" was an alltime classic.
Thilakan, Mohanlal and Shaari all did their best.
